Daisee VARI GND C-POL PRO DMC Filter provides a convenient way to maintain exposure control by being able to vary the amount of light entering the camera by 1-3 stops (ND2-8). The precision built-in double ring design allows the outer ring rotates to control amount of neutral density effect anywhere within the 1-3 stops range. This double-ring design is also thin to reduce the likelihood of vignetting with wide-angle lenses. Variable Neutral Density filters, and ND filters in general have these main uses:
- Slow down shutter speed for motion blurring effects like waterfalls, cars or blurred panning movement to make the subject stand out from the background.
- Allow wider apertures to be used to decrease depth-of-field, literally focusing more attention on the subject.
- Allow higher ISO films to be used in brighter lighting conditions
- Allow cine/video cameras, which have a fixed shutter-speed range, to film on brighter lighting conditions such as the beach or in snow on a sunny day.
For best results Hoya recommends using a tripod when photographing with slow shutter speeds.
Superior Optical Technology
It employs a high transmittance optical glass, which can effectively block UV rays below 300mm. The edge of the lens has undergone matte processing in order to prevent harmful glare.
High quality optical glass is adopted for the production of all Daisee filters. Schott original optical glass is specially used for the professional Daisee Super Multi-coated filters series.
The optical glass has the function of anti-ultraviolet rays, which almost 100% light can go through within the visible spectral range. Reflection of light is less than 0.5%.
Daisee Testing Data indicates that:
Those filters without coating can reflect about 8% of the light, which hitting on the two air-contact surfaces of the glass; while the light loss of the multi-coated filters is only 0.5%. The multi-coating technology plays an excellent role in glare and light reflection. Daisee’s multi-coated filters decrease the possibility of glare and reflection from approximately 8% down to 0.5%, which means reflection is reduced 16 times.
Excellent Water & Oil Repellent Coating
The DMC coating has a 8-layer Water & Oil Repellent, Scratch & Stain Resistant Coating on Each Side. The coating meets the standard requirements of the optical coating, which has been put through rigorous Salt Water Immersion Tests.
DigitalMulti-Coating (DMC) of Daisee filter is not only an effective multi-layer coating, but also is durable enough to prevent the filter surface from being scratched.
The Characteristics of Water & Oil Repellent can effectively keep the filter clean and maintain the optical performance of the optical lens for a long time.
When testing this effect by an oil marker, the ink will be broken down into droplets by the coating.
UItra-Precision Thinnest Frame
The thickness of the frame is merely 10mm making it perfectly suitable for wide angle lenses, which can eliminates vignetting. The frame has been through the EU ROSH standard, and is in line with environmental requirements.
Daisee adopted a new design where the filter glass is screwed into a high-precision retaining ring. This design can eliminate the possibility of loosening and maintain the balance of the filter, ultimately protecting both the filter and the lens.
