Combining a compact 4K camera and handheld 3-axis motorized gimbal into a single unit, the Feiyu SUMMON is an all-in-one solution for capturing stabilized handheld footage. The camera, which utilizes a 1/2.3" 16MP sensor, supports UHD 4K video up to 25 fps, 2.7K video up to 30 fps, 1080p at 60 fps, and 720p at 240 fps, not to mention up to 16MP still photos. Whether you're shooting video or taking photos, the unit uses Feiyu's proven 3-axis gimbal stabilization technology to keep the camera isolated from unwanted jitters and shakes, resulting in smooth, floating camera movements. Like many action cameras on the market, SUMMON's camera offers interval capture for time-lapse recording, but steps things up by allowing you to use the gimbal motors to add pan or tilt motion to your shots.
SUMMON's body and structural parts are all constructed out of metal for durable and heat dissipation, with a silicone grip on the handle provided comfortable and confident handling. For framing and monitoring your shots while operation, there is a built-in 2" LCD screen located on the back of the camera. Menu navigation, settings control, and gimbal operation are performed using a joystick and function button located on the handle, with a record button also present. The device also has built-in Wi-Fi that enables you to connect to a smartphone running the FY APP for remote monitoring and control, as well as sharing your photos and videos to social media sites.
The gimbal is powered using a single 3000mAh 22650 lithium-ion battery that provides approximately three hours of constant shooting at 1080p resolution. The battery is charged via a USB port on the handle. When you want a locked-down shot rather than going handheld, you can mount the gimbal onto a tripod or other support device using one of two 1/4"-20 threaded holes.
